What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
BOTOX®
Cosmetic is the trade name of botulinum toxin type A. BOTOX® Cosmetic
is an exciting new cosmetic procedure that can simply, safely and
effectively improve:

- Horizontal forehead lines
- Crow's feet around the eyes
How does it work?
Normally your brain sends electrical messages to your muscles so that
they can contract and move. The electrical message is transmitted to
the muscle by a substance called acetylcholine. BOTOX®
Cosmetic works to block the release of acetylcholine and, as a result,
the muscle doesn't receive the message to contract. This means that the
muscle spasms stop or are greatly reduced after using BOTOX® Cosmetic, providing reliable relief from symptoms.
How long does the effect last?
The results usually last between three to six months and may be
repeated when needed. Most patients require less frequent treatments
over time as the muscles retain and weaken from disuse. BOTOX®
Cosmetic can be very effective in enhancing the results of photo
rejuvenation, collagen rejuvenation and may be used with
microdermabrasion treatments.
